Luke Newton is an extraordinary talent who continues to captative a global audience and establish himself as a force in the industry. Newton will be next be seen as the titular role of Lee Alexander McQueen in the upcoming off-Broadway play HOUSE OF MCQUEEN. The play tells the story of the late fashion designer, from his early days in his childhood home in London, to his unexpected rise to fame in the commercial fashion world, all from the perspective of McQueen himself. The show will open at the Hudson Yards theater on September 9, 2025.
Newton recently wrapped production on the upcoming sci-fi thriller WHITE MARS opposite Lucy Hale. Set in an isolated Aquila Research Facility, WHITE MARS follows microbiologist Sammie (Hale) as she and Leo (Newton) fight to save their fellow crew members from a malevolent entity whose sole intention is to extinguish them all.
Newton can currently be seen in the Netflix’s global phenomenon BRIDGERTON. He stars as ‘Colin Bridgerton,’ the third oldest child in the Bridgerton family, and appears alongside a powerhouse cast including Nicola Coughlan, Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Claudie Jessie and Luke Thompson. Following the global phenomena around the show’s first two seasons, Newton returns to carry on the Bridgerton name and capture the hearts of fans worldwide. Based on the book series by Julia Quinn, BRIDGERTON Season 3 focuses on the love story between Colin Bridgerton (Newton) and Penelope Featherington (played by Coughlan), a blossoming romance that has had fans on their edge of their seats since the show’s inception in 2020. Fans sawNewton in a new light with his performance in the third season, launching him to being the Regency’s newest heartthrob and enterting his ‘leading-man era.’ The third season released in two parts, with Part 1 debuting on May 16, 2024 and Part 2 on June 13, 2024. The third season was watched by a record-breaking 82 million houses worldwide in its first four weeks. He will return for the fourth season of the series which is set to debut in 2026.
Newton is also known for his talents on stage. Most recently, he just finished his run as the lead in Neil’s LaBute’s London production of THE SHAPE OF THINGS alongside Amber Anderson which received rave reviews and played for sold out audiences. Live theatre is also where Newton began his career starring as ‘Elder Price’ in the original West End production of THE BOOK OF MORMON. Prior to his on-stage debut, he trained at the BRIT School, followed by the London School of Musical Theatre.
Newton’s other credits include his lead in the Disney Channel Series THE LODGE, BBC Two’s teen drama THE CUT, ITV’s period drama MR. SELFRIDGE, and CBBC’s SADIE J. He currently resides in London.
